Hello,
I have a win2000 workstation, that I just hooked up a Centurytel DSL modem/router to. It is hooked up via an ethernet card. It worked for about a week, then all of the sudden my computer will go through a shutdown process, and reboot. I can work for about 3 minutes before it reboots. I turned off the DSL modem, and the computer doesn't reboot. I moved the router to another computer at home, and there is no problem, so I'm guessing it's my NIC card. It's and Nvida card. My question is, is it really possibly the card that's fried? or is it a driver? Or is something corrupt? Or do I have a virus? I tried re-installing drivers, no change. I ran stinger.exe, no virus. I ran registry mechanic, it found no problems. Is my only choice to buy a new NIC card? I just don't want to buy a new card, just to find out all I had to do was change a registry setting or something.
