Hi there,

I've never installed checkpoint and never been on a course but I've been thrown at installing it. (I'm waiting for a courier to delvier the media so if all the info I need is on it just tell me :) ) Here's what I've got:

HP DL380 G4 1GB RAM, Windows 2003 with SP1, two NICs.
Check Point Express - VPN-1 Express Gateway for 100 Users
(This will run everything to do with Checkpoint)

If anybody could answer these questions it would be great:

Should the server be a member of the domain? (I guess not but need that clarified)

If I don't need a DMZ are two NICs enough?

If I were to buy a book about this product, which one should I get?

Thanks in advance.

2 NIC's will be enough if no DMZ required.

the server will only need to be declared in the AD as a device, if you are going to use AD authentication for home workers etc.

loads of good books; one i used to start with was essential firewall-1 by phoneboy, any good retailer will haveit or amazon etc.
good reference site.

this is a very useful site and you should have a log on as you will need to register the fw-1 license, go on and setup your account, the knowledge base is very good.

Thanks for the reply. I shall order the book post haste.
