NG AI - Enforcement module - Smartcenter Server 1

This may be a slightly stupid question but I am new to this and learning.

Using Checkpoint NG AI - Can the enforcement module and the Smartcenter Server reside on the same system or must the Smartcenter server be on a remote system?
