Hi,

Newbie question:

I want to be able to access NFS shares on an Linux sys from my XP machine(wont use samba, need to use NFS)...

Im looking for a free NFS driver for windows XP,
any good ones?

Thanks

Rob

Hi,

Install SFU from microsoft product. It's free. Make sure you enable NFS client option during installation. SFU only work on NTFS filesystem and XP Pro. Double check requirement for OS again.

Which would be a solution if you wanted to access Windows shares from Linux systems. But that's exactly opposite from what Nevelo wants.

I'd like to find a free NFS client for Windows myself -- I was googling for one when I landed in this discussion. Doesn't seem to be one, though there are plenty of non-free clients. I guess the Open Source people are satisfied with Samba, and can't be bothered giving us a free NFS client.

Hi,

SFU includes NFS server as well. Check out MS website for details.
