I have just upgraded several systems from Solaris 9 to Solaris 10. I can no longer mount AIX filesystems through NFS on these servers. Other servers running various earlier version of Solaris can mount the AIX file systems.

THe AIX file systems are shared to the world. When I try to mount on Solaris 10 I get the following message:

mount -F nfs falaix7:/falaix701 /mnt
nfs mount: falaix7:/falaix701: No such file or directory

Any Ideas on how to correct this?

Thanks

-chris

Can you ping falaix7 from you Solaris 10 workstation? Also make sure processes automountd, lockd and statd are running...

Yes - statd, lockd and automountd are running and you can ping falaix7 and it does resolve through DNS.

The file system will not mount through the automounter and NIS.

Automount works on solaris 10 for other OSs (HPUX OSF True64) but not aix

Is the filesystem on falaix7 shared out to the Solaris 10 box

Is the AIX server version 5.3?

In that case: make the exports accessible for NFS version 4 (default is for versions 2 and 3!)

This works for me .....

Sorry! That didn't work!
The filesystems just hangs ....

The next solution DOES work:
make the exports accessible for NFS version 3 and mount the exported directory on Solaris with mount -F nfs -o vers=3 hostname:directory mountpoint
