newly installed cd burner

Hi

I just installed a new burner in my computer. I downloaded the software and I was ready to go. However, when the systems start scanning the burner's connections, it freezes my computer.

Is this due to lack of memory?

Check your cable connections and Master/ Slave settings for the drive.
