newdev.dll not found

Tring to install the drivers for a new sound card (prowler 4.1 dsp) And get the message that a required dll file,newdwv.dll was not found.This stops the installation from the cd.I downloaded the file and placed it in the system folder then received the message that the newdev.dll file was linked to missing export file ntdll.dll.That file is sitting in the system folder. So where can I go from here?

Try adding it to the system32 folder as well...might do the trick.
Have you deleted any programs recently, or removed something without using the ADD/REMOVE software in control panel?

Another workaround that sometimes will go is to install the card as something else through windows add hardware, and then use the update driver feature to change it to the right one. It seems to give you more leeway and lets you browse for files when it cant find them.
