Hi all.

I was hoping one of you fine folks could shed a bit of light on these sore eyes.

I'm trying to set up a website using IIS 5 on a Win2K server (patched current). I'm pretty new using IIS, etc, but though I had everything set up properly.

My problem is this. I've put up a test page and can access it using my local IP address (inside the LAN), but get a time-out error when trying to access it using a WAN IP address. I can successfully ping this WAN IP addy from outside using my domain name or the actual IP address.

Could anyone give me an idea as to what I'm doing wrong?

Any and all suggestions are GREATLY appreciated.

How is your IIS server connected to the internet? Do you have multiple NICs in it? Or are you using a router?

Hi Serbtastic.

Thanks for the reply.

The IIS server is attached to a Cisco router.

Is your Cisco router doing NAT for your Network? And if so, do you have port 80 forwarded to your IIS server?
