I'm new to Premiere Pro, and I was wondering if there is some easier way to automatically insert crossfade transitions between clips. Right now I open the effects menu, Video Transitions, Dissolve, Cross Desolve, Drag it to the timeline between clips, etc.

I'm used to other editing packages where I just drag one clip over another clip on the timeline and the crossfade between clips is just automatically generated.

Sorry for the newbie question, but I thought I might be missing something. Thanks.

I think that might be in the tutorial. have you run through that?

Cheers,

I went through some of the tutorial, but not all of it. I'll check it out. Thanks.

My first demo of Premiere, the fella showed exactly how to do what you are talking about and said that all this stuff was in one or more of the demos that came with the CD. There ought to be a total training CD in the box, too.

Cheers,
