Newbie - No Sound

When i add a video file into premiere i can hear the sound in the import view window, but when i drag it on the time line and i press play there is none, just the video. Any suggestions as i am new to this preogram?

Make sure on the timeline where the audio is (Audio 1?) that the sound is not muted. There are 2 boxes at the beginning and the first box should have an icon (like the older windows volume icon) in it. If not click that box. Also make sure the Audio 1 timeline has the audio file on it.

Could also be a feature of your capture device. If the problem persists, post details of your capture card and general setup.
