newbie install question

I installed php on win2k. I used a windows installer package vs a bigger zip install file that was available. What I installed seemed like a very light weight install but it asked me what my server was. I said Xitami which i am using on my local pc as a testbed/learning.
I'm sure there's more I have to do now because when I browse to a .php "hello world" file I only see the text php source code, so like it's being browsed but not rendered as php by Xitami. What should I do?
