Hi, I have been using Win2k Pro for years and have my MCP, but embarrassingly I am a little lost with XP at the moment. I upgraded to WinXP Pro from Win2k Pro and yet a logon screen just for my profile, but it doesn't give me the administrators logon profile which I need. What do I have to do to login as the administrator?

Hi

At the logon screen press Ctrl, Alt + Del. This will bring up a pre-XP style logon box where you can type the username and password. Just type your administrator details in there.

Hope this helps

Thanks, can have that screen as the default?

Andy

You need to send Ctrl+Alt+Del twice at welcome screen (or using Safe mode puts Adminstrator on list I think)

To switch it off, open User Accounts in control panel. Click on 'change the way users log on of off'. Then there's option for classic logon.

also, if you install tweakui for XP, logon option lets you decide which accounts appear on the welcome screen.

Thanks where can I get that tool from?
