i have an exchange 2000 server installed w/ sp3.

everytime I create a new user the mailbox is created but no email address is created. I try to mail enable the user and only move mailbox, delete mailbox are visible.

i can't even see the mail box in systme manager.. i tried searching the forum but couldn't find anything

thanx guys

I think we need some more info here.
"everytime I create a new user the mailbox is created", but then you go on to say "i can't even see the mail box in system manager".
The fact that the only "exchange tasks" options available are move or delete mailbox means that the mailbox does indeed exist. I believe the question is "where?"
If you look under system manager>administrative groups>[domain name]>servers - do you have the correct (Exchange) server listed?
When you drill down further to [Exchange server name]>first storage group>mailbox store>mailboxes - is anything listed there?

cybersaur is right, also remember, the email address will be established based on the policy schedule and the address book update schedule (sorry for the lack of technical terms - if you need the proper ones, let me know)

Also keep in mind that new mailboxes do not show up in the E2K System Manager until an email has been sent to it.

Try setting up an email client with a profile for the new user whose mailbox you created, send and email to it then check 'Mailbox Resources' in System Manager and the mailbox should be there.

i tried send an email to activate the mailbox but nothing happened. this is where it gets complicated.

my exchange server's fqdn is subdomain.domain.com but the xchange server is configured to receive mail for domain.com.

so when i send mail it looks for mail.domain.com which is set as the host name on smtp virtual server properties.

i short, i think i played around to much and now things are screwed...

should i have to reinstall my xchange server in the domain.com namespace to get i working properly?

also is there a way for the xchange server to receive mail for a website that is host on a cobalt raq4?

i want to integrate the raq4 into our active driectories network, where the raq4 is the web server and forwards any smtp mail to the exchange server...
