Well, here’s the scoop.
I have a 2900XL (WS-C2924C-XL if it helps)
My "internet feed", so to speak, is in the first slot with a cross over cable. I have a dhcp server and nat server between here and there from an old IBM I turned into a router/firewall project. I am a newbi to IOS for sure, but I would like to set up telnet on the switch. I am having a hard time with it because I can't up the routable IP. I am running version 11.2 and for some reason the built in help (ya know... interface fastethernet ?) doesn't work....for one reason or another. Ciscos site is a jungle no doubt, and the 70 meg of docs I have on my machine and those others I’ve flipped threw hasn't yielded results. I feel quite foolish asking; I feel the answer must be plain as the nose on my face.
Cheers,
Mikey
