I've just created a new universe - gone through the odbc admin and exported it to a repository.

Reports based on this universe work fine for me but other users are getting an odbc connection error everytime they try and refresh- anybody know of a common cause for this error?

Is it for BO or WEBI? Give us the exact error message what they are getting.

Nimmy,

It's BO and the error message is [microsoft][odbc driver manager] data source name not found and no default driver specified0

That's about the clearest message possible, there is no ODBC connection set-up on those users's PC's T. Blom

OK, I've gone into the users machine odbc setup and created a system dsn which points to the relevant database and i've given it the same name as my own connection. Now i'm getting a new error message.

It's giving me a microsoft odbc error and it's saying Not a valid bookmark - 1045

Any suggestions?

The connection name you specify is BusObj related. The DSN should be configured directly to the database where you store the repository. The universe connection is just that it is a parameter of the universe. A repository can store any number of universes with their own connections.... T. Blom

The user alreafdy seems to be connected to the repository - do you think the problem could be with the way in which i have added the universe to the repository?

Got it to work blom - you were right I hadn't exported the universe to the repository correctly...

Cheers for your help
