Hi, I've built a new 5.5 server running windows NT4.0, sp6, and applied exchange service pack 4 to replace an old server. I've managed to move user mailboxes with no issue, but I can't see any of the old servers public folders in the "instances" tab on the new server to add them. Under the master folder list in exhange admin, I cna see theold server under the replicas tab for folder properties, but not the new one. All other services see the new server fine.

Any thoughts form anyone? At present I have mailboxes on the new server and public folders on the old, and outlook clients are fine, but I need to get the cutover done.

One thought, can anyone tell me how new servers are identified to the folder-hosting servers?

having investigated further, it looks as though no recently built servers are showing up as possible replica hosts in the folders list, for some reason the most recent visible was built on the third of March, any built after then aren't visible for public folder replication via exchange admin. Any ideas of a unifying cause? Or failing that, how can I manually identify them?

I have now managed to get the new server to appear in the replicas list. Problem now is, does anyone know a way of propagating replicas within subfolders, without propagating permissions?
