Does anyone know how to add a file located on a
floppy disk to the screensaver area? I am using
Win98.

Thank you.

I'm sorry, I should have mentioned that this is a .bmp file
that I wanted to covert to a .scr file.

You mean wallpaper....right?
Put it in
C:\WINDOWS\Application Data\Microsoft\Internet Explorer
I'm pretty sure...it's been awhile

correction;
You can Open the Bitmap with MSPAINTand "Save As" as a JPEG, (choose it from the drop down box - 24 bit or higher) and then put it in the folder described above, for it to be the Active Desktop Background/Wallpaper. (you can then get at it - choose it -- from within Display Properties\Background Tab).

If you turn Off Active Desktop...it'll vanish, and/or you can click Display properties\Effects tab and "hide icons when viewed as a web page" if you don't want to see the Desktop Icons while the JPEG is showing.

But to convert one picture (bmp) into a screensaver....you'll need a program that creates an executable file, and a heck of a lot more pictures [smile] ....BTW - the normal .scr files are in C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM
