Greetings all, I am a "new" SCO OpenServer 5.0.5 admin. for a small local business who was a SCO Openserver, and 8 WYSE dumb terminals connected via a 12-port serial box (which connects to a Adaptec 2940UW). I am now in a delima of adding more terminals. Terminals 1-8 are active; when I plug the new cable in any port above 8 I receive an error on the new terminal stating "unknown terminal". How exactly do I add the new terminal to the server, where I can specify the VT100/WYSE50 terminal emulation? Any help would be greatly apprecieated.

Again, thank you.
-Dennis

Can be 2 possible places. 1st is in the file /etc/ttytype which is editable ascii file.
2nd is through a terminal configuration program from the multiport card supplier.
Or you can make an additional user for those ports above 8 and specify the terminal type in the .profile for the user.
Will you look further into your multiport card info. Adaptec 2940 is a scsi device controller, not a serial port controller. You'll get better help when the full info is available.
Ed Fair
efair@atlnet.com

Any advice I give is my best judgement based on my interpretation of the facts you supply.
Help increase my knowledge by providing some feedback, good or bad, on any advice I have given.
