Using Hyperterminal I have been trying to get a P4 2.4Ghz Intel pc with an Aopen MX4GVR mainboard, to connect to the PBX to retrieve wakeup call data. The old win98 box has no problem doing so, but it is old and needs replacing, New box has win2kpro tonnes of ram and no other devices hooked up to it.

Ok so this is what happens, I open the connection with the identical settings the old system used,
300 baud
7 bit
space
1
hardware
Hyperteminal shows "connected" I can't get a response from the "enter" key but I can see data that is sent from the PBX, I just can't talk to the PBX in return.

I connected a serial modem and performed init strings and other diagnostic commands with out problem. I'm at a loss for what to try next. Help me!!!
