New Parent/Child relationships in Datagrid

I have a two tables stored in an Access DB and linked by a DataRelation.

I load the tables into a dataset and display them in a Datagrid. I don't save changes to the Access DB until i leave the datagrid.

Using the datagrid, when i add a new entry into the parent table and then immediately navigate to the child table to add some child rows, no index is created in the foreignkey column. Therefore all the child rows are unrelated to the parent.

I assume this is because the index has not yet been generated for the parent row, because i haven't yet saved the table.

Does anyone know a way to solve this?
