This has probably been asked before, but as the keywork search is down...

How do I install either a new 3com / Intel NIC on a Sun 220R?

I have 3 NICs that I wish to install on my server, but they aren't seen via 'ifconfig -a' and can't be installed via say 'ifconfig iprb0 plumb'

I can see them via 'prtconf -pv' so the system knows they are attached to the PCI bus.

I have tried setting up 'vi /etc/driver_aliases' with something like 'iprb "pci8086,1"' and doing a 'drvconfig;devlinks' but still no joy.

All the searching on Google shows x86 installs...

Help !

cheers,

Nick.

ps. Here is a 8086 line from prtconf;

Okay,

Intel Pro 100, 3Com 3c905b-tx, and Accton / SMC 5030B cards aren't compatible with Sparc Solaris 9.

So the new question is;

What cards are compatible with Sparc Solaris 9 ???

cheers, Nick
