I have installed a new HD to my dell server and i can't seem to find out how to add the space to the current volumes. I have installed it then went to the array controller to add it to the array and that went fine. I get into Novell and I can't seem to find the free space anywhere.... I would really appreciate some help...

TIA

Hi,

You will not see the free space in NetWare until you create a partition on that drive.

When you added it to the array, did it expand the array to a larger size? Or did it create a new logical drive?

Technically, either way, NetWare won't see the space till you either create a new partition or expand the current partition to the larger size (if applicable). The difference is, that if it created a new logical drive, NetWare will see it as a separate device. If it expanded the size of the existing, NetWare will see one device with the origianl partition plus some unpartitioned free space. My guess is that it created a new logical drive.

You need to use NWCONFIG to create a new partition in the free space. You should be able to find where the free space is at within NWCONFIG. If by chance you're using NSS, good luck... I hate the process of setting up NSS volumes in NetWare 5 and I avoided it as much as possible.
