New EDO Ram Slow

I'm running win2k on a 5 year old HP Pavillion Pentium 200Mhz intel with MMX, 2M EDO video memory, 256k pipeline burst, I added another 64M edo 72 pin simm ram to the existing 64M, now the system shows a total 130,612kb but I do not notice any difference in speed, the graphics is really slow during downloads on my 56k modem.
What do I need to do to make the system faster? Thanks

Sorry but you can buy the fastest computer on the market, and the graphics being slow downloading over a 56K modem wont get any better.When downloading over 56K phone line it can take a while to get the needed files from the web.
No matter how much memory you have the speed wont improve when downloading from the internet.

Simply put, you have an older machine bottlenecked by it's slow processor and motherboard chipset, and of course a 56K modem is a 56K modem wether it is in a Cirix 300 or a 2.2P4 machine.
Anything above 64mb EDO ram isn't going to make a differance to your graphics as other restrictions are your problem. Martin Just trying to help, sometimes falling short, I am only human after all.
