I just reformatted my c: and reinstalled WinME. Now i only get the 640x800 resolution with only 16 colors. I remember having have better settings for both, but now i am unable to change it. Do i need to reinstall new drivers? And if so, what drivers should i get and where can i find them online??

in device manage it says i use a PnP Monitor with
Standard PCI Graphics Adapter (VGA) ..whatever that means..

the monitor is a Daytek 14-36D. But im confused, what would i get the driver for? is it the monitor?? or the video card???

thanks

u get drivers only for CARD not for
monitors.
monitors should be compliant to video card.

Do not rejoice that ur code works.
it might be a special case of an error :-(

so how do i go about finding out what video card i have? Under device manager in the sounds, video, joystick section the only thing listed is a SB PCI 64/128 (WBM). Isn't this the sound card? Nothing else is listed. Or is the Standart PCI Graphics Adaption (VGA) thing my video card? And if it is how do i check what driver its using and where can i find upgrades to it.???

You will have to open up the computer and see who made the video card, or if you bought the computer from a company(E.G. Gateway, HP, Dell, .etc) you should be able to go to their website and search for the model number of your computer and it should list what the video card is.

Also, before doing anything to a computer, always make sure that you have a written copy of everything listed in your Device Manager, any network settings you may have, and a copy of the system files is never a bad thing.

Thanks,
Don

Thanks for the help mrfilez.

Anyone else got feedback??

I've been looking at my computer and i dont wanna open it up because ill probably break something.

Its a HP Pavilion model 8240.

Does anyone know.. or can anyone look up the sound card in this system??

thanks

If you dont wanna go inside, go to the HP site and look up that model. Hopefully they will list what type of display card is in there.
