Hello,

I was just setting up a new back up job, selecting the servers etc that needed to be backed up and there was a new domain present along side my existing one! I could not gain access to it.
I have no idea where this came from and it has now disappeared. Does anyone know how this could happen or whay could cause this? we run win2k3 XP network.

Any advice greatly appreciated.

I'd be checking your firewall and making sure nobody in the office is plugging in unauthorized laptops. Disable any unused network jacks.

I hope you find this post helpful.

Regards,

Mark

This will happen when another machine that has membership in another domain is detected on your network. Follow Mark's advice above.

Many thanks. Will send the appropriate emails out and find the culprit. A reminder of policies may be needed as well!

Thanks
