I'm installing a new DNS onto an existing Win NT 4 domain that is using external DNS's and an internal WINS. I need to resolve the name of a server on another network to an IP so my users can use the web pages on it.

How can I add that info to this new DNS? Tried adding a reverse lookup zone with the subnet that server is on and adding an A record to that but that didn't work.

If you want to use an Alias to resolve to an IP you can just put that in your Forward Lookup Zone. It doesn't matteer that the IP you will be entering if for an external IP.
After that typing in the alias in a web browsers address line will direct the browser to that address.

Currently I don't have any zones setup under "Forward Lookup Zones" so how would I add this alias?

I beleive I've found the solution that worked for me. Had to create a new forward zone, add the A records for those servers I needed to get to and then change the configurations in the DNS configurations on all my clients to look at that new forward zone. That's working for now.
