I recently got a new computer, my 4th one. I have a hardline network throughout my house with a linksys router. I hooked up this computer yesterday and used the connection wizard to locate connection. Thinking that it found a connection I open up Firefox and was unable to connect. I then opened up Explorer with the same result. I go to "run" IPCONFIG, and it reads a connection to the Internet. I ping myself as well with no timeouts. I open up my firewall (sygate), which I had off the whole time to see if packets are trying to be sent to and from my computer, or if certain programs are trying to send info to and from. I start getting popups from my Firewall of (Generic Host Processfor Win32 Services SVCHOST.EXE is trying to broadcast to remote port 1900, Do you want program to enter network) as well as (ccApp.exe is trying to broadcast to network, Do you want program to enter network?)

Also, on my Network Connections it reads my Ethernet adapter and says Internet is enabled.

I am at a loss right now and I think my brain is fried trying to figure out how my new computer can read an Internet connection but not allow me to connect to the Internet via Firefox or Explorer. If anyone has any tips for me at to how I can solve my little problem I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks again.

Do you have MAC address filtering enabled on your router? If so, you must configure the router to allow access from the new computers MAC address.
