New build of Backup Exec slower?

I seem to have found a weird problem with backup exec 9.1.

If I upgrade one of our Netware servers to the new build (Backup Exec for NetWare 9.1 Build 1067.2) the backup speed over network goes down to less than 70mb/m.

If I reinstall an older build (Backup Exec for NetWare 9.1 Build 0307.1) the speed goes backup to around 350mb/m.

This makes a HUGE diffrence in backup and I wonder has any one else noticed this problem? If you have do you know how to fix it? As the new build is suppose to fix the problem when you try to restart agent and it complains about port 10000 already in use...

This server has OFO on it but enabling/disabling it makes no difference to the speed.

This problem is very confusing, I updated another server to the new build but its backing up with the same speed as before....

On the remote server im running this
Novell NetWare 5.1
Support Pack Revision 04
(C) Copyright 1983-2000 Novell Inc. All Rights Reserved. Patent Pending.
Server Version 5.00.10 January 7, 2002
Novell eDirectory Version 8.6.2 SMP
NDS Version 10350.12 October 28, 2002

on the backup server I have this version
Novell NetWare 5.1
Support Pack Revision 04
(C) Copyright 1983-2000 Novell Inc. All Rights Reserved. Patent Pending.
Server Version 5.00.10 January 7, 2002
Novell eDirectory Version 8.6.2 SMP
NDS Version 10350.12 October 28, 2002

Tries these set commands on both servers, see how you go..

SET TCP DELAYED ACKNOWLEDGEMENT=OFF
SET TCP NAGLE ALGORITHM=OFF

I should have said that I tried that never made any diffrence :(

Think I just keep the older build on the remote machine and wait for Veritas to release another build.

The server that slows down has groupwise running on it maybe thats what affecting the performance...still doesn't explain why the older build is faster with almost 300mb/m which is a HUGE diffrence.

To add to this weirdness.

The two servers I left using the new build the speed is fluctuating one night it goes its normal speed of 300-480Mb/m then it slows down to 70Mb/m even on the local machine doing the backup so its not a network issue.

--------------------------------

I don't know whats going on, I will give this new build a few more days next week see what happens but if its still acting up I think I have to revert all machines back to the older build.

This never happend with the older build.
