A new area code does not work from the switch. When dialing 936-NNN-NNNN you get the message "You must dial a 1 for long distance" but then if you dial 1-936-NNN-NNNN you get the message "The number you have reached is not in service" Is this a problem on my side? The route pattern doesnt eliminate digits.

Thanks.

Try having the route pattern insert a 1. My switch is having similar troubles...so I have two sets of route patterns, 1 that inserts a 1 and one which does not.

I would also try calling that number from a phone not tied to your switch, just to make sure the problem is in your ARS table.

Sounds like your going to need to add this in the ars analsy table. {ch ars ana 936}under dialed string (936)total min 10 toal max 10 ,route pattern (the one you use for local calling , call type (hnpa).
The only other issue you may is if you have local and long distance within the 936 area code .
Hope this help
