I have never used FoxPro before, I´d like a tip on how to get started - I have mostly worked in Visual Basic, but never in this program. Tips please...

Hi
If you know visual basic, then this shall not be a problem.
The best way is to jump into it. (ofcourse initial reading of text books could be helpful... but that you know VB, you can jump into it and learn to swim).

Start a new project,
first create a dummy table with one or two fields,
create a form, use wizrd to start with
keep modifying a few buttons.. and feel
All along.. keep running the form to see the effect
and slowly and slowly.. sooner or late...you will be ito it.

Best of luck ramani :-9

But....before you apply VFP the VB way...that is OBP iso OOP, you should take a look at the links in my signature and try to read about OOP in VFP. It will cost you sometime to get the hang of it, but believe me, it will save you more time and money in the future.
