Have a hp with xp and a athlon system with ME,, cant get them to see each other in the network. any ideas ??
they are using a netgear hub and the me has a netgear card, the hp has a network everywhere card..

I just did this, though the other machine had 98 not ME (though the process should be the same).
Run the Networking wizard on the XP machine, it's really easy to follow if you're new to networking. At the end of the wizard you'll get an option to create a disc with a program on it that will run the wizard on the other machines on the network (it only takes one floppy disc). Take the disc to the other machine and run the file that's on it. That will run the same wizard on that machine. It will reboot the PC, once it re-starts you're network is ready! Easy-peasy.
'course this only sets up a peer-to-peer network, more complex networks are a different kettle of fish.

Cheers,
Dan Moss
