I have 2 IPOs (412 and 406v2) in 2 cities, each has a VMPro server,
and all extensions are unique. I have an IPSec tunnel between them
via NetScreen firewalls and works great for data. The problem is
with quality and QoS since it travels over the public internet. I
don't want to troubleshoot this issue anymore, so I just want to use
PSTN calling. I am looking for a simple solution to prevent VoIP
calls between the offices, while still sharing BLF and other
information like caller name. Anyone done this?

Here are ideas that I have:

Disabling Voice Networking? Would this still share info?

Setting VoIP lines to 0 Voice Trunks then set Least Cost Routing
alternates?

I can drop the VoIP lines and set shortcode to dial, but that doesnt
send the caller ext name etc, unless I program it into the directory.

Anything else?

You almost have it

I have seen it done where you set up IP trunks between the sites set the avalible channels to 0 at each end. Turn SCN on at each end. (This allows users to see the busy status of the far site)

Set up LCR so that if I dial an extension at the other site it routs over the PSTN via the users DDI. If the users don't have DDI you could use a VM pro AA.

Example
User dials 3002
Call goes to LCR which dials a PSTN number at the far site the short code then sends DTMF 3002 to the AA in Voice mail and the call gets to the extension 3002

PS you short code would look like

3XXX
"PSTN Number"D3N
Line Group:"Your PSTN Line Group"
Feature:Dial

Not the D means wait for answer and send DTMF you need ISDN for this

Sounds good. I'll see if I can give this a try, but this doesn't solve the issue of having name display.

Since all extensions have DID, I have to add the names via Directory to get the name to show right?

Yes. Have done this many times, most customers don't care about the name coming up. Mainly care about BLF and directory look ups.

I think you will find the name display will still work as this travels over the SCN as data
