networker don't see barcode labels on tapes

Hi!

I've a sun storedge L8 autochanger (actually, hp ultrium 2 lto2) with barcode reader option installed.

I use networker 7.3 on solaris 10/sparc (fire v440 with lsi logic based scsi card).

All 8 tapes in autochanger have barcode labels on them.

jbconfig didn't find barcode reader during autochanger install, so i checked "Barcode reader" checkbox manually in "Networker Administration->Devices".

Barcode labels column in "Networker Administration->Media" screen is also blank.

Otherwise device works fine.

Sales representative says: "Buy support and we'll send you a wise guy" stuff

Any tips how to troubleshoot a problem - is it in hardware (barcode reader option) or in software (networker)?

This really makes me mad

I guess that the information that a barcode exists does not make the way to the interface. Could be a configuration issue or a true problem.
