Networker 7.3.2 Index Tapes

I am not sure what you have stored on these tapes. It is best practice to sent NetWorker's INDEX and BOOTSTRAP backups to such tapes but in general it could also contain any data. Please verify your pool setup.
Index and Bootstrap backups are consolidated backups of the client file index and the media index.
The result of a relabled tape is the same as for any other tape - you will not able to recover the data any more. Hope you have clone media in case you still need these old backups.
