Network Workgroup

New to trying to put together workgroups and network security. I have been able to establish a workgroup on my local machine. When I attempt to apply a new workgroup to an access database on a network drive it does not work? Can anyone give me some direction?

I assume you are working with the MS Access Security FAQ, found at (among other places):

Let me give a simple one-line answer:
You need to set up a special shortcut which opens your database file and your special workgroup file. If you have messed with your built-in system.mdw file, then I recommend you start from scratch with a new workgroup and read over the FAQ before starting again. It is more like a tome or manual than a FAQ, and is extremely helpful.
