I have 2 computers connected to a belkin router and i have cable internet. On one computer i cannot browse the internet after 10-15 minutes after booting up. I can still download files and play online games I am just unable to browse the internet using any browser. I have tried reinstallation of I.E., restored I.E. defaults, and have updated the firmware of my router. Is there anything I can do to fix it short of formatting?

Sound like you may have some form of virus! i would udate your virus defs and rin a full system scan.

Search the symptoms on symantec's website, it sound like a strain of sasser or somthing.

Also, if you disconnect the other PC form the router do you still have the same issue? what OS are you running?.

It could be that you have some kind of spyware on your pc try downloading spybot or adaware to check for spyware.
Spybot
Adaware

When you can't browse the internet can you ping websites, what happens if you open a command prompt and type ping or does that work ok and gives you a reply? If it does there is nothing wrong with the actually connection to the net....
