Hello,

Has any one ran into this error while trying to open an Access database from a network share? I think it may be related to registering or maybe a security policy. Any insight would great.

Error:

Microsoft Access

! ODBC--connection to 'SQL Server(Name)' failed
(OK) (Help)

After you click OK the message goes away and you have blank Access window open. I clicked on help and it provided me with the info below and it was not much help,Since I know the server is there and the server is online. The file is available.

ODBC — connection to <name> failed. (Error 3151)
The ODBC connection to the specified ODBC database or table could not be made. If the ODBC database is accessed via a network connection, make sure the network is available, and then try the operation again.

Thanks,

Aledid

Do you have an ODBC connection on the computer you're connecting from. I've found every that connects to a network share needs its own ODBC created.
