Network Properties

I have Dell Latitude D800 laptop with WinXP SP2.

Whenever I change any network properties, I loose all my networking capabilities (LAN or Wireless).

The only option is to do a system restore.

This becomes very painful, if I;m at a site and have to assign static IP address. Cannot do that .

Any solutions welcomed.

Are you matching any changes you make on your Network Properties with any firewall you have installed?

I only use the default windows firewall. No other firewall sotware is installed.

I tried using some LSP fix utility earlier. But after that some of my software stopped working (Cisco VPN etc.)
