first off, let me give you the error messages i've been getting through event viewer, then i will explain a little bit.

"""This Machine is a PDC of the domain at the root of the forest. Configure to sync from External time source using the net command, 'net time /setsntp:<server name>'.

Because of repeated network problems, the time service has not been able to find a domain controller to synchronize with for a long time. To reduce network traffic, the time service will wait 960 minutes before trying again. No synchronization will take place during this interval, even if network connectivity is restored. Accumulated time errors may cause certain network operations to fail. To tell the time service that network connectivity has been restored and that it should resynchronize, execute "w32tm /s" from the command line. """

ok, now, the problems we're having are when it comes to printing through the workstations.. we have about 8 windows 98 workstations.. they're paired off into groups of 4.. the weird thing is, 4 of them work perfectly, but then the other 4 do not work at all.. i always gets "unknown system error, cannot print" and it does that with all the 4 problem workstations..

the printing works good under almost all circumstances.. the only problem is when we're using our accounting software (peachtree) which is ran through the network.. i'm guessing the network information cannot travel fast enough.. we have a dual speed 16 port 3com officeconnect hub.. and we are NOT connected via dsl or cable.

any questions, anything.. mozaltin@aol.com

hi ozispimp
On a Windows NT 4.0-based domain controller that is running W32Time, edit the %SystemRoot%\W32time.ini file and set the "LocalNTP=yes" value.
On the same domain controller, at the command prompt, type net stop w32time -> press enter
w32time -update -> press enter
net start w32time -> press enter

On the Windows 98-based computer, at a command prompt, use NET TIME command to synchronize the time

thanks for giving it a shot, but it didn't work..

1) there is no w32time.ini file, or at least on my server.. i searched for it, and no results..
2) there is no w32time command, i'm assuming you meant w32tm
3) also, there is no "-update" command, as that didn't give me any results, but what switches are acceptable.
4) i tried visiting taht web site, but it wouldn't load up anything other than a blank flash page..

thanks again though for the attempt.
