Network Print Logging/Tracking

What's the best way, if possible, to log or find out what people are printing to a network printer that is being connected to directly through the ip address and not through a server.

Most network printers have an internal print log.

The answer is "42"

thats the thing, i thought so too. We have an HP 4250 and i log in to the web interface and check the logs but there's nothing in there. I can't figure out if theres a way to turn it on or if thats just how it is and isnt worth a crap.
