Hi,

I remember there was this simple tool (I think it was included in Windows 98, and you needed to install it separately from the CD) with which you can create popup messages on other Windows network computers. But I cannot find any documentation nor do I remember its name, filename, or location on the Windows 98 CD anymore. I want to send such messages from a Windows XP to a Windows 98 machine.

Thanks in advance for any tips,

Klaus

yes...winpopup
Start > Settings > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs > Windows Setup > System Tools > click Details > winpopup
also on the 98 cdrom at <drive>:\tools\oldwin95\message\us
read wms-fax.txt
more admin tools in the \reskit directory

Start>Run "Winpopup.exe"

will also work if it is already installed in windows folder.

It's a bird! It's a plane! No, it's an OS update patch! Ahh!!

if it ain't installed (and Aol and others like M$ will gladly do this for you behind your back)....it ain't working - besides - no need for .exe - just winpopup will do from the run box
