Hello all,

I have a question regarding refreshing the client list in Network Neighborhood. Our network is an NT 4 server SP 6 enviroment with Win98 clients. Which includes all of our BDC's, our PDC, Exchange, and DNS/DHCP servers.

We recently promoted another PDC due to performance issues. We noticed beforehand that Network Neighborhood was slow to refresh, it generally took several hours to refresh. Now that we have promoted another server to the PDC role, the network does not appear to refresh at all. How/where do I resolve this issue?

We are planning to migrate to Win 2000, but we are a few months away from deployment.

Thanks for your help.

Check the services . See that the browser service is running. Check the event logs to see if there is failures . A master browser must be running but you can have other p.c's running as backup's . Event log will show elections occurring or failing .
