Hello,

I have XP home edition running here and Apache is properly installed on my machine. Everything works fine when documentRoot is set on drive C, D or even E (the one attributed to the Flash memory card).

The problem is that I want to have documentRoot pointing to a folder found in another machine hooked to the LAN. Even mapping this remote folder to a drive letter won't allow Apache/me to see its content.

Is there something else I should do?

Thanks for helping ! :)

Sleidia,

Even mapping this remote folder to a drive letter won't allow Apache/me to see its content.

Do I understand you correctly that you are unable to see the contents of the mapped drive? If so, you'll need to work that out before Apache is able to use the mapped drive as DocumentRoot.

Hi Wishdiak :)

No, actually, it meant that Apache is not able to output the document root content in the browser.
But, of course, the mapped folder can be accessed via the file explorer on the LAN.

Sorry for this misleading sentence construction.

Do the remote and local file permissions allow the apache process to read the contents of the directory?

Hi ericbrunson :)

Well ... I really don't know and I'm not sure where to check. Don't forget that it's HOME EDITION only which means that file sharing options are limited.

Thanks for helping.
