Network Connection Time Out

Master Server running NB 5.1 on Windows Server 2003.
Client machine running Win2K Server.
Both machines are on a gigabit connection.
The client machine has a local C & E drive and an R & S drive which are attached to an EMC SAN.

All drives except for S backup with no issues. The S drive always fails with a status 41: Network connection timed out. The network is running fine. We have tried to extend time out settings. Nothing has worked. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
