I have a workstation that has downloaded and received 2.5 billion bytes in a day. I have run spy x-terminator to get rid of a few things, but it still is running. I am behind a firewall and have run the latest update from Microsoft. And it still is running. In other words it is still sending and receiving a lot of information. Any clues

Hi, what does Task Manager show is running?

no apllications when explorer is closed, and only 1 proccess every once in a while viewmgr.exe shows some memory activity

Try running the following 3 Pieces of software, if anything is running then one of these three should find it and allow you to remove it.

Try installing Ethereal, or download the demo of Etherpeek. Then you can see what your machine is talking to in detail.
