Hey all,
I have 4 servers all running netware6 -2 of them will display the Netware remote manager page, 2 of the servers will only display "Page not found" when trying to access them at " ip addess>:8008. Same thing happens when trying to access IP address>:2200. Any ideas where I should start looking?

Charles

Charles, you have two different issues here...

Port 8008 for Remote manager is handled by HTTPSTK.NLM. That's a good place to start. One thing you could do is check in TCPCON to see if the server is listening on port 8008. Also, it may be on 8008 generally redirects to 8009 on the secure port.

Port 2200 for iManager is handled by Apache. There is a TID that might help you with that.
I would assume you have IP loaded and bound to your NICS.

Marvin,

It looks like my SSL is all messed up. I've gotten down to TID10050254 (reinstalling Certificate server) and under server configurations the TID states:

"4. Netware 6.0 SPx running eDirectory 8.6 - Use the Netware 6.0 SPx OVERLAY CD that corresponds to your support pack level"

Is the Overlay CD, the support pack? Are they asking me to reinstall the support pack? I assume if they are that I have to also reinstall the Post support pack?

Thanks

Something else you might want to try...

find your LOAD NILE.NLM line and change it to this:

?LOAD NILE.NLM

There is something called the "Nile Race Condition" on faster machines that can cause NILE to load to quickly which causes things to fail. the ? will put in a 10 second pause.

The overlay is not the support pack. the overlay is the full OS with the support pack files already applied to their respective directories.

Marvin,

Ok, I'll give the ?load nile a try. Where would I get an overlay?

Charles

personaly i wouldnt use overlay's

there are multiple tids concerning overlay's and they normally appear in the cause of problem rather than the cure

out of curiousity what happens if you point the browser to

Check faq871-4056 for issues found with the NW6SP3 overlay image. Annoying and makes you want to throw a snow ball at who ever packaged it, but easily fixable.

Run PKIDIAG.NLM (found on your server to ensure your certificates are in good shape. However, even if they arn't, Remote Manager would still run on port 8008. Just means your data is not encrypted on the wire.

Another good idea is to reorder the load statments in your autoexec.ncf file

Load NILE.NLM
Load HTTPSTK.NLM /SSL /keyfile:"SSL CertificateIP"
Load PORTAL.NLM
LOAD NDSIMON.NLM
LOAD NICISDI.XLM s
LOAD SASDFM.XLM
LOAD SAS.NLM
LOAD PKI.NLM

I have found this makes the initialization of the portal and nici services load better and solve many issues.

A screwed up NICI can also cause this issue, check it. Do not run NREPAIR on your NetWare6 box, it's not quit compatible. Download the Security Domain Infrastructure Diagnostic and repair utility (SDIDIAG.EXE) from to check your nici.

Terry,
If I try I get a response back saying connection refused.

Still cannot find the overlay CD, where can I find one?
