I have Netware client services installed on my pc (W2k) but I don't need it any more. Does anyone know how I can uninstall it? It is not in the list of installed applications in the Control Panel 'Add/Remove programs' option and I cannot find an Uninstall.exe anywhere.

Any help would be appreciated.

When the client was installed on your PC it created a folder (usually called CLIENT in the root of your hard drive).

In the CLIENT folder there is a sub folder ADMIN, in there you will find a program called UNC32.EXE.

The UNC32.EXE will uninstall the NetWare client and protocols from your PC. New Zealand, a great place to visit.

darranag, thanks for the reply.

Sorry - no such folder anywhere on my HD.

I've also searched the entire HD for this file, but no luck.
Any other ideas would be appreciated.

Novell Netware? Do you have the CD you installed it with, or a path to a network drive where the install files resides? Unfortunately, it does not plunk the uninstall on the hard drive (which is why I tend to copy the install to the hard drive). Good luck. Jennifer Sigman

JLSigman, thanks for the reply.

I installed it with from a download from the Novell website. I've still got the installation files, but as far as I can see there are no uninstallation files.

Any other ideas would be appreciated.

If you still have that download, is it a zip or self-extracting file? When you unzip/explode it, what directory did you put it in? Also, which version are you using? Jennifer Sigman

JLSigman,

It is a zip file.

>When you unzip/explode it, what directory did you put it in?<
c:\nwclient
>...which version are you using?<
The zip file is called WNT483e.exe.

Many thanks,
Alan

Um... this is odd, he's right, I can't find the uninstall file... it's not in the admin or any other folder. I know I've uninstalled 4.82 and 4.83 before, but be durned if I can find the file now. Jennifer Sigman

darranag - thanks for the reply.

The Novell knowledgebase states...
>To uninstall the Novell Clients for Windows NT you need to right click on Network Neighborhood, choose Properties, choose the Services tab, highlight the Novell Client for Windows NT and then click on the Remove button<

This may be fine for NT, but with W2K there is no Services tab - the properties sheet is an explorer list of existing dial-up and network connections.

Regards,
Alan

In the Local Area Connections you should be able to right click on your connection then take properties. Remove the IPX protocol (if you are using IPX/SPX) and the NetWare client. New Zealand, a great place to visit.

I didn't have a 'Local Area Connections' option, but I looked at the network list for another of my dial-up settings, removed the Netware client and everything's fine now.

Many thanks,
Alan
