After upgrading Netware client to 3.32 in Win95 and Win98, shortcuts residing on the network (Netware 4.11) which have a UNC path as opposed to a mapped drive path now hang.

Anyone else run into this problem?

I've come across this before as far as I know it is a known bug that has not been fixed yet. I have had to map network drives to a drive letter and the ammend the shortcuts. Greg Palmer

Any feed back is appreciated.

And remember if it doesn't work just flush it down the toilet. [Flush]

Unfortunately, we do not have a drive letter available.

Thanks for your input.

Our terrific software support person has unraveled the mystery of the stalling network shortcuts. Apparently, if you open My Computer icon, click on View, and look at as Web Page. This should NOT be checked. You will then have to go to Folder Options , click on View, choose Like Current Folder.

This would explain why we had issues with the network Shortcut on some workstations but not others. Everybody sets their views up differently.

Since this only happens with the most recent versions of the W95/98 Netware client, it remains an issue for Novell. Now we at least have a workaround.
