I've got a mixed environment of Netware and Windows servers.. Has anyone had any experience with backing up Netware servers from a Windows 2003 server? (Permission restore problems...etc?) Should I keep the Netware server backups seperate from the Win 2003 backups? or can I just run all the backups from the Windows 2003 server...

Thanks

I run all my backups from Netware, which is backwards from what you're asking... but there shouldn't be any problem doing it your way either. The Netware Remote Agent should handle the permissions.

As added peace of mind, I also use a little known utility from Netware called Trustbar.nlm. It backs up (and restores) all trustee relationships on any Netware volume you run it on, and saves the result as an xml file. Very handy, read about it here:
And yes it does work on Netware 6.5.
