I am working on installing Novell NetWare 6 Evaluation. After I boot from cd, it asks me to choose IDE, SCSI, or both. I chose IDE and I get the following errors..

NOT ENOUGH DRIVE LETTERS AVAILABLE

ERROR: Unable to find a loadable driver

Can anyone help?

I have tried running fdisk..deleting all partitions and creating a dos partition (making it active) and it still doesnt seem to help.

Generally if you choose BOTH, it will find the correct one and load. I've had problems when specifying one or the other.

You could also boot with a regulare DOS disk with CD drivers, then run Instal from the Netware CD.

yep i always pick both as well - dont know why just always thing more is better

Ok I tried choosing both and I had the same results for all 5 of my hard drives.

So..to solve the problem

1. I booted to a floppy with cd-rom support
2. FDISK..made a dos partition and rebooted
3. Used the command...format c: /s to mount system files on the dos partition
4. Changed drive letter to cd-rom drive...mine was U: at the moment
5. And typed...install <enter>

Hopefully these steps will help anyone who is installing Novell NetWare 6 for the first time.
